Four Season Economy Visitor Partnership Visit The County is proud to team up with the PEC Chamber of Commerce, County Arts, the Picton BIA, and the Municipality of Prince Edward County to build a stronger, year-round local economy. Together, we’re working to reduce our reliance on summer tourism and create more opportunities for businesses, artists, and workers in every season. This partnership is about growing a sustainable, inclusive visitor economy that keeps The County vibrant for residents and visitors alike, all year long. The Municipality aka "The County" As a Municipal Services Corporation, Visit The County has one member: The municipality. Visit The County works closely with multiple municipal departments to ensure effective governance and tourism management. VTC works with municipal staff on projects pertaining to economic development, public transit, tourism management, stakeholder communications, and governance. Industry Associations Prince Edward County Winegrowers Association PEC Wine is the marketing and advocacy organization for Prince Edward County’s wine industry, supporting local wineries and promoting the region’s wine experiences. They partner with Visit The County on aligned marketing initiatives to attract visitors and showcase The County as a year-round culinary and wine destination. Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce The Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven non-profit dedicated to fostering local economic growth through advocacy, networking, and business support. Representing over 360 businesses, it serves as the collective "voice of business" in the region, offering resources like health benefits and professional workshops.While VTC focuses on tourism marketing and visitor experiences, the Chamber supports the business infrastructure behind those services. ogether, they collaborate on providing essential resources for small businesses and advancing their four-season economy partnership, ensuring a sustainable, year-round marketplace that benefits residents and the tourism sector alike. Prince Edward County Arts Council The Prince Edward County Arts Council (County Arts) is a non-profit organization dedicated to championing the region’s creative sector. Representing hundreds of artists and makers, it manages signature events like Art in the County and the Maker’s Hand, while operating the County Arts Lab as a hub for workshops and community creation.County Arts collaborates with Visit The County to integrate local culture into the regional tourism strategy. Together, they promote the County as a premier cultural destination, leveraging the arts to drive the four-season economy and enrich the experience for both residents and visitors. Picton Business Improvement Association As The County’s only legislated Business Improvement Area, the Picton BIA is a board of municipal council, funded by a commercial tax levy on Picton properties. They use these funds to keep downtown Picton beautiful, vibrant, and filled with a diverse mix of shops and services.The BIA works with Visit The County to make sure the downtown core is a welcoming home base for visitors. A prime example of this successful partnership is the Summer Visitor Information Centre at The Regent Theatre, which provides essential guest services right on Main Street. By aligning on four-season economy goals they work together to keep Picton vibrant and accessible for everyone, all year long. Accommodation Associations StayPEC StayPEC is a collective of local accommodation providers funded through the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT). They collaborate with Visit The County on aligned marketing initiatives to promote overnight stays and support a vibrant, year-round tourism economy in Prince Edward County. Licensed Short-Term Accommodation (LSTA) Association The Licensed Short-Term Accommodation (LSTA) Association represents local short-term rental operators in Prince Edward County. The association advocates for responsible hosting practices and works collaboratively with the municipality and tourism partners to support a balanced, sustainable visitor economy. The Bed & Breakfasts of PEC The Bed & Breakfasts of PEC association represents local B&B owners and operators across Prince Edward County. They promote quality accommodations, share best practices, and collaborate with tourism partners to enhance the visitor experience and support year-round tourism. Visitor Services & Amenities Prince Edward County Public Library Prince Edward County Libraries serve as year-round visitor information locations in partnership with Visit The County. Each branch offers in-person assistance and printed materials to help visitors discover experiences across The County. The Regent Theatre The Regent Theatre is a historic performing arts venue in Picton offering live shows, films, and community events. Through a partnership with Visit The County and the Picton BIA, it also houses the Summer Visitor Information Centre on Main Street in July and August, serving as a hub for visitors to discover The County. County Transit Visit The County works with County Transit to promote public transit options for both visitors and residents. The goal is to make car-free travel easier and encourage more sustainable, convenient holidays in Prince Edward County. Sandbanks Provincial Park Visit The County maintains a close working relationship with Sandbanks Provincial Park, staying in regular communication to share visitor information and coordinate messaging. This includes updates for high-capacity days and promoting sustainability, encouraging visitors to respect and protect the natural environment. County Museums Visit The County works closely with The County Museums to promote their events and exhibits while highlighting the region’s rich history. A key collaboration is Flashback February, a special initiative that celebrates and shares The County’s heritage with residents and visitors alike. Quinte Conservation Visit The County collaborates with Quinte Conservation to both promote and help protect Prince Edward County’s conservation areas. Together, they ensure visitors can enjoy these Regional Partnerships Bay of Quinte Marketing Group Visit The County partners with the Bay of Quinte Marketing Group when goals align, working together to promote sustainable tourism in the region. This collaboration helps both organizations support responsible travel and highlight the unique experiences across the Bay of Quinte area. Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Visit The County is building a partnership with the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte economic development office to highlight Indigenous-owned businesses on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Together, we aim to promote tourism and strengthen connections between our communities. RTO 9 Visit The County works closely with RTO9 (South Eastern Ontario Tourism Organization) to align regional tourism strategies and initiatives. This partnership helps promote Prince Edward County within the broader Southeastern Ontario region while leveraging shared marketing, research, and development opportunities. Provincial & National Organizations Visit The County works with a range of provincial and national tourism organizations that provide access to valuable resources, industry insights, and professional development opportunities. These partnerships help us stay informed on best practices, enhance our marketing and management strategies, and strengthen our ability to support local businesses and attractions. They also offer opportunities for networking, collaboration, and research, ensuring that we can grow as a Destination Marketing and Management Organization (DMMO) while promoting sustainable, inclusive, and innovative tourism in Prince Edward County.
