    Wine Tasting Fun
    Karlo Estates

Start with a chauffeured wine tour

A local tour operator — perhaps even a fleet of vintage cars — takes participants into wine country with stops at three local wineries, each with a unique setting and offering.
Experiences include a VIP, behind-the-scenes winery tour, and a chef-led tutored tasting session with insider tips on food-and-wine pairings.

    Take the winemakers’ challenge

The final winery stop sees participants engage in a team-building challenge, as they pair up to blend their own vintages under the guidance of the winemaker who will taste, rate, and declare a wine winner at the end of a served luncheon.

End the day with wine, dinner and music

The evening gathering takes over a winery with a progressive event staged throughout the setting. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres are served in one area, a sit-down wine-paired meal in another, followed by a post-dinner lounge area with music.

Start the day with a gentle sound meditation session in a unique setting—how about an authentic yurt nestled in a forest—followed by healthy eats, and a juice and smoothie refreshment bar.

Participants are then transported to a local conservation area for a guided forest bathing walk designed to engage all the senses and embrace the beauty of nature. The experience culminates back in an art studio bringing that reflective inspiration to life in a piece of take-away art created under the tutelage of an experienced encaustic artists. Lunch is served after the workshop.

Formerly a military base until 1969, this cultural destination has undergone a transformation into a dynamic space that invites participants to explore its rich past while shaping its future. With over 70 tenants, including galleries, retailers, artists, and craftsmen, this is a thriving center for creativity and community engagement.

Participants can then gather around a table for a meal prepared and presented by the executive chef at a refurbished historic hotel, a crown jewel of Main Street Picton, ending with after-dinner lounging and jazz in the bar.

Participants embark on a traditional County Horn Trip, sipping and savouring their way along the eastern shores of PEC.

    Littlejohn Farm

First stop in a hands-on guided walking tour of an organic working farm that finishes with light refreshments and snacks prepared using foods produced on the farm. Next up, a local cidery for a cider tasting session, then on to a local cheese producer.

Lunch, featuring farm-to-table ingredients, is served at a winery in the area. Dining options include at a winery restaurant, a tasting room, outdoor dining pavilion, or terrace overlooking vineyards.

The evening event takes over a hangar at the historic WWII airbase training camp in Picton, transformed into a culinary-entertainment-market hub. With drinks in hand, guests wander the indoor market area perusing and purchasing the wares of local artisans. Food-and-beverage stations showcasing local chefs, wine, beer and spirits producers invite guests to graze their way through a night of delicious County tastes and sips.

A black, smiling alpaca looking at the camera, surrounded by other alpacas

Feed, walk, and snuggle with 90 alpacas while touring their farm home, learning about how this beautiful animal is as gentle on the earth as it is in its nature.

A registered herbalist then leads the group on a foraging expedition along the nearby Millennium Trail to gather ingredients that will star in the evening's meal prepared and presented by a local plant-based chef.

The evening event begins at sundown at a local brewery. Guests enjoy music and cocktails by an outside fire pit, before sitting down to dinner featuring ingredients from the day's foraging finds.

Post-dinner, a local astronomer connects the group with the heavens with a guided tour of the stars through telescopes and naked-eye navigation. The rest of the evening plays out with bonfire lounging, or music and dancing inside.

The day takes the group beyond wine for some tasting fun at a local distillery and a brewery.

First up is a distillery where guests enjoy a guided tasting that segues into a lesson in the fine art of mixology and creation of their own signature cocktail. Light food is served.

At a brewery, the head brewmaster greets the group, leading them on an exclusive tour of the facilities while explaining the brewing process. A beer tasting follows, detailing the nuances of each style, and includes samples of the raw ingredients, including the hops and barley used in each for a full sensory experience. A delicious and hearty lunch is served.

The evening is a Prohibition-themed event that takes over a grand, heritage mansion in Picton. Cocktail hour is spread throughout the circa 1862 landmark's stunning salons each offering food, bar and entertainment that draws guests into a unique, immersive vignette from the era. Dinner is in the ballroom—a menu featuring dishes prepared with, and paired to, the region's signature beverages—wine, beer, spirits and cider. A live band provides the post-dinner entertainment.
