On Sunday, February 22nd, join Ian Shanahan as he shares his presentation "Local Invasive Species: History, Identification and Management".

In this who’s who of local invasives, get to know the key players, how to ID them, where they’re from, how they got here, how they are impacting local economies and ecosystems, and what mitigation efforts are either underway or need to be expiated. This is a complex topic with plenty of nuance, so come prepared with questions and discussion points.

About Ian Shanahan, Director of Leader Development, Communications and Trip Research for Worldwide Quest & Project Coordinator for the Outdoor Learning School & Store:

A lifelong naturalist for with a deep passion for wild spaces, Ian works in educational travel with Worldwide Quest as well as outdoor and environmental education with the Outdoor Learning School & Store. He enjoyed 13 seasons with Ontario Parks, including eight at Presqu'ile Provincial Park.

Ian's primary areas of focus in environmental education are biodiversity, climate change and pollinators. He completed his BAH at Queen's University and his B. Ed at the University of Toronto before becoming an Ontario Certified Teacher.

The presentation takes place on Sunday, Feb. 22nd 1:00 to 3:00 pm (doors open at 12:30) at the Consecon Legion.
