The AVRO Arrow Free Flight Model Tests: A Presentation by Jeff Young

Mariners Park Museum

History & heritage

In 2024, for the County Museum’s Arrow Trail, Jeff Young constructed a 1/18th scale model of one of the AVRO Arrow Free Flight Models.

In order to make it as accurate as possible, he conducted a considerable amount of research on the Free Flight Model test program. The material he found tells a fascinating piece of the County’s history.
His talk will provide insight into how and why the tests were carried out and the critical role that the Canadian Armament Research and Development Establishment range at Point Petre played. Jeff will also describe the construction of his scale model.

Please register your attendance for this talk so that we can account for seating by emailing Cassandra at cwaldon@pecounty.on.ca
