Rick Sheppard's Drifters

From 1966 To 1970, Rick Sheppard recorded as a Drifter and in fact Rick is the Last Living Member of That 1960’s Group who recorded on The Atlantic Records Corporation Label.
Rick Sheppard is an integral part of this hit-making machine. He has been there for more than 45 years. Rick joined The Drifters in 1966 as a singer and recorded with the group on Atlantic Records through the early 1970s. During that time, he toured with The Drifters throughout the world and shared stages with some of the greatest names in music and show business. In the late 1960s, George Treadwell, the manager of The Drifters, sought a replacement for the late lead singer Rudy Lewis. Persuaded by songwriter Rose McCoy and Bert Burns, Treadwell reached out to Rick Sheppard in 1966.

Initially, Rick thought it was a prank and hung up. After McCoy confirmed the legitimacy of the call, Treadwell reassured Rick, leading to his acceptance of the role as the new lead singer of The Drifters and the rest is as they say is Rock’ n’ Roll History!
