Meet the People Behind the Place
Spend time with artists, growers, herbalists, and makers whose stories are just as memorable as what they create.
Collect Moments, Not Just Souvenirs
Paint pottery, forage for wild plants, wander village streets, and leave with experiences you'll still be talking about long after the trip is over.
Prince Edward County isn't a place to rush through. It's a place to slow down, stay curious, and leave room for unexpected moments.
This itinerary is designed to help you experience The County at a gentler pace by meeting local makers, spending time in nature, and lingering a little longer over good food and conversation. Rather than checking off stops, take time to engage with the people behind each experience, wander without an agenda, and appreciate the small moments along the way.
By supporting local businesses, artists, growers, and community-led experiences, you're helping preserve the character that makes The County so special.
Day 1 - Arrive. Check In. Reset.
Once you've settled in, resist the urge to rush into your itinerary. Stretch your legs with a short walk along Picton Harbour, grab a snack, and take a few minutes by the water. Let yourself settle into the slower pace that defines Prince Edward County before the rest of your experience begins.
Picton Harbour
Walk along Picton Harbour, grab some snacks, and sit by the water behind Picton Harbour Inn. Easy, low-key option to pass time between sessions.

Drop into County Creative for a pottery session. It’s a simple, hands-on activity and works well in any weather. Settle in and enjoy the process. This is one of those moments where slowing down is the point.

As evening settles in, wander the side streets, peek into the shops that are still open, and choose a patio or dining room that catches your eye.
The best meals in The County aren't just about what's on the plate—they're about lingering a little longer, chatting with the people around you, and letting one more glass or one more conversation turn into the highlight of your day.
Day 2 - Sophiasburgh: Land, Makers + Experience

206 Picton Main Street, Canada
This is The County’s only crêperie. Each crêpe is made fresh to order using locally sourced ingredients, offering a simple (but highly delicious) option that has been a staple in the community since 2017.

Sophiasburgh blends open fields, quiet bays, and heritage farmsteads with a growing community of local makers. It’s a slower-paced part of the County that feels grounded and genuine, offering a more local, countryside perspective of Prince Edward County.

Continue your day with a guided foraging experience led by Tamara Segal of Hawthorn Herbals. This immersive walk offers a chance to identify wild edible and medicinal plants while learning about their traditional uses. It is a hands-on way to engage with the land and sets the tone for the day.

VVITCHFARM Market & Apothecary is a new community-driven space that blends the feeling of a farm stand, general store, and apothecary. Rooted in a local homestead, it brings together nourishing food, locally made goods, and a strong sense of place. It is the kind of stop that feels both functional and memorable. Give yourself time to wander. You’ll get more out of it the slower you move through the space.

30 North St, Prince Edward, Ontario, Canada, K0K 1W0
Spend some time with the alpacas, whether feeding them or walking alongside them through the property. It’s a lighter, more playful moment in the day that still feels rooted in the landscape and offers a natural pause between experiences.

In the afternoon, return toward Downtown Picton for a slower stretch of time. This is an opportunity to browse local shops, stop for coffee, and capture the quieter, in-between moments that define The County experience.
Day 3 - Villages & Departure
The final day is intentionally slower and flexible, focused on exploring the villages that give Prince Edward County its character. Spend time moving between Bloomfield and Wellington, each offering a different rhythm. Bloomfield feels curated and design-forward, while Wellington carries a relaxed, welcoming energy along the water. This portion of the day is less about a fixed plan and more about browsing, discovering, and taking in the atmosphere.

1 Beach Street, Canada
Head to Wellington Beach for a final moment of stillness. A walk along the boardwalk, time near the water, and the open landscape provide a calm and grounding close to the visit.

1633 County Rd 3, Carrying Place, Ontario, Canada, K0K 1L0
Before leaving, stop at Campbell’s Orchards for fresh produce and homemade baked goods. It is a simple, authentic way to end the trip and take a piece of The County with you.
