J. Douglas Thompson paints primarily in acrylic, attempting to depict various atmospherics caused by light interacting with water in all forms. Whether found in grand cumulous clouds, fog drifting up on a lake in the early morning, waterfalls, crashing waves or its many other permutations, he is moved to capture these events of wonder. His paintings are also personal metaphoric expressions of light filled with hope, in juxtaposition to the challenges of life. He has published a 160 page, full colour, limited edition coffee table book. $125.00

Surrounded by pastoral County landscape, Doug welcomes guests into both his studio and gallery space to experience dramatic acrylic paintings focused on light, water, atmosphere, and movement.
