Wellington Rotary Beach is a stony beach with a boardwalk that’s popular with walkers and cyclists. Amenities include washrooms, picnic tables, benches, a pavilion, and a boat launch.

During the peak summer months, the beach will close when it reaches capacity. Closure notices will be posted on the municipal Facebook page and X feed.

Beach-goers are welcome to bring their own food, but must leave alcohol and any cooking devices at home. BBQs of all kinds and open flame are not permitted at the beach. 

When is the beach open?  

The beach is open daily from 7 am – 9 pm. Please be a good neighbour and keep noise to a minimum at early and late hours.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is parking at the beach. If the lot is full, visitors can park at 111 Belleville Street.

Are there washrooms?

Yes.

What amenities are available at the beach? 

The beach offers washrooms, change rooms, picnic tables, parking, designated barrier-free parking, and a boat launch. 

Is barbecuing permitted?

No

Is it safe to swim in the channel?

No. Boats use the channel to access the lake. In addition, water currents in the channel may make swimming unsafe.

Is there a family restaurant nearby?

The County’s official tourism website offers a list of restaurants in Prince Edward County.

Are dogs allowed on the beach? Can my dog be off-leash?

Dogs are permitted as long as they are under control by their owners. Your dog is not permitted to be off-leash.

Is alcohol permitted?

No.

Is there a lifeguard?

No.

Is overnight camping permitted?

No. Erecting a tent or having an RV parked at the beach past 9 p.m. may result in a ticket. Here is a listing of campgrounds in Prince Edward County. Please note that illegal camping carries a fine of $500.

Is the water safe for swimming?

Wellington Rotary Beach is stony and some users may find it difficult to enter the water. High waves can also result from high winds. Please be safe, as there is no lifeguard on duty.

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH) tests the water at the beach from the middle of May until the end of August. Beach postings occur when water is contaminated with bacteria that are potentially harmful to the health of swimmers. A beach may also be posted because of floating debris, oil, scum, or excessive weed/algae growth.

Wellington Rotary Beach is a popular stony beach with amenities like washrooms, picnic tables, benches, a pavilion, and a boat launch. Paid entry required on specified days.

Dune Hopper Brewing is a dog and family friendly, farm brewery located in West Lake, near the entrance to Sandbanks Provincial Park.

Our beers are all made on site in small batches and include IPA's, Sours, Lagers, and other seasonal and rotating releases.

We have a spacious property with a patio, fire pit, hop yard, beach volleyball court, games, and more.

Laurie paints in her home studio—a space filled with light, movement, and freedom—where she can fully immerse herself in the process, guided by feeling rather than form. Each painting is a reflection of a moment, a mood, or a memory, offered as a shared emotional experience with the viewer.

Laurie Mclachlan Art

Laurie Mclachlan is an expressive, intuitive painter based in Prince Edward County. Her abstract work explores emotion through bold colour, layered brushstrokes, and energetic lines. Inspired by the natural beauty around her, Laurie paints in her home studio, using the process as a way to connect inwardly and outwardly—inviting others to feel something personal in each piece.

Nestled among Wineries, Cider houses and blueberry patches our Lavender farm offers a picturesque  experience of the wonderful colors of Lavender flowers and their awesome aroma.

A wonderful Lavender farm where you can relax and enjoy the awesome scent and aroma of Lavender flowers. Also shop of locally made multitude of products made from our organically grown flowers.

Mad Dog Gallery has been operating in Prince Edward County since 1990. Located in a large renovated timber framed barn on the north side of East Lake, and situated on 25 acres with beautiful gardens and paths through the meadows down to the lake, it has a wonderful pastoral setting that guests are welcome to enjoy.

The Gallery features traditional and contemporary fine art created by some of the County’s most talented artists. We usually have 3 or 4 solo shows each year alternating with group shows of about a dozen local artists. 

Studio space is located above the gallery and the gardens are open to all to enjoy.

99.3 County FM is a community-owned, not-for-profit “over-the-airwaves” FM radio station which reaches all the wards in The County with a 3,000 watt signal. Programming showcases local musical talent; interviews with long-time County residents; summertime programs for tourists; public affairs programs which deal with important local issues; timely information on local weather and community events; and news from the wards. There’s something for everyone in The County.

All on-air hosting is done either by volunteers, or in the case of paid employees, on volunteer time outside of paid working hours. 85 active volunteers keep the station on the air, while there are an equivalent of three full-time paid positions including the General Manager.

99.3 COUNTY FM

99.3 County FM is a non-profit community radio station in The County, showcasing local talent, public affairs, weather, events, and news. Staffed mainly by volunteers.
