Sonya Zaback and John McFarlane Play The Speakeasy

Sonya & John have entertained audiences across Eastern Ontario for over fifteen years with an engaging blend of jazz, musical theatre, pop, soul, and Canadian favorites. Combining exceptional musicianship with a warm stage presence, they deliver polished, heartfelt performances that connect with listeners of all ages—whether in concert settings, community events, or private celebrations.
Belleville vocalist Sonya Zaback brings power, versatility, and soul to every performance. In addition to her work with this duo, she is a member of the Prince Edward County-based funk, soul, and disco band Cue the Funk, and performs with Picton’s Command Performance Choir. Her musical influences range from classics like Etta James, Billie Holiday, Rosemary Clooney, Aretha Franklin, and Joni Mitchell to modern icons such as RAYE, Adele, and Susan Tedeschi.
Kingston musician John McFarlane is an accomplished tenor, pianist, and retired music educator. Throughout his career, he has appeared as a soloist in major oratorio and opera productions and has accompanied singers across a wide variety of musical styles.
Together, Sonya & John’s musical chemistry and diverse repertoire ensure that every performance memorable.
