Established in 1993, Art in the County is a juried art exhibition and sale that has grown in scope and stature, showcasing the highest quality works of art by Prince Edward County artists and artisans. Presented by the Prince Edward County Arts Council, the show features over 100 works in a wide range of media, including watercolour, acrylic, oil, and encaustic paintings, sculpture, textiles, wood, photography, ceramics, glass, and more.

Celebrate strawberry season with us at the Athol Strawberry Social! Enjoy fresh local strawberries served with ice cream and a delicious selection of homemade baked treats.

This is a pay-what-you-can community event, and everyone is welcome. Whether you're catching up with neighbours, bringing the family, or simply treating yourself to a summer dessert, we'd love to see you.

<h1>Snack Plates - Handbuilding Workshop</h1>Snack Plates - Handbuilding Workshop Date: June 30th Time: 6:00 – 9:00pm Cost: $85 per person Location: 256 Picton Main St&nbsp; Ages: 16+ Join us for a fun and creative 3-hour handbuilding pottery workshop where you’ll design and create your very own Snack Plates! Please come with your inspiration. This one-time class is perfect for beginners — no experience needed. You’ll be guided through foundational handbuilding techniques to shape and personalize your Snack Plate, adding your own unique details along the way. There will be time to add details to your items! However, if you’d like to create something super detailed, we do recommend coming back once your item has been bisque fired to paint your piece — at no extra cost! Once complete, your piece will be professionally glazed in a food-safe finish and ready for pickup within approximately 4 weeks. We do offer shipping if you are from out of town.&nbsp; What to Expect:<ul><li>A hands-on, beginner-friendly clay experience</li><li>A little mess (it’s part of the fun!) — all materials wash out easily with water or in the laundry</li><li>The final 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up</li></ul>What to Bring:<ul><li>An apron</li><li>A hand towel</li><li>Sketch Book&nbsp;</li><li>Short, trimmed nails are recommended for working with clay (we’re happy to offer workarounds if needed!)</li></ul>You’re welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the workshop.

Join us for outdoor theatre on the front lawn at The Waring House. 
A freak storm maroons a troupe of actors on an island in Duck Bay, Prince Edward County. They are there to rehearse an interactive mystery play featuring Detective William Murdoch. There are seven of them. At least until one of them is murdered. It is obvious the perpetrator has to be one of them. But who? No one else came, nobody has left. One of the group is pressured into taking on the job of investigating the crime for the safety of all. As it turns out, each of them had reason to wish the victim dead. However, there is another sudden death. Now there are five.  Will there be more? And why?

In "Untitled," the artist considers North American landscapes she has traveled simply as the land- the geography - itself, without reference to ownership, jurisdiction, or clam to title.

ANDARA Gallery and Canadian musician Astrid Young announce “VORTEX” … an exhibition that utilizes Art • Music • Wine + “Tap to Play” Technology to deliver a unique visitor experience! •	Central to this unique collaboration is a summer-long VORTEX Art Exhibition at ANDARA Gallery from June 21st through September 7th, 2026 showcasing new works by artists Andrew Csafordi and Tara Wilkinson inspired by the music of Astrid Young. Visitors will see two completely different interpretations … one using the ancient technique of painting with melted beeswax (encaustic paintings) by Andrew Csafordi … the other a series of photographic portraits by Tara Wilkinson of women who moved here from elsewhere and now call Prince Edward County their home and community. All works of art and music will be available for purchase. •	 In addition to the artwork displayed on the gallery’s walls … visitors will see a bottle of wine paired with each VORTEX work of art and song - curated in partnership with six leading local wineries: Closson Chase Vineyards, Karlo Estates Winery, The Grange of Prince Edward Winery, Rosehall Run Vineyards, Sandbanks Estate Winery and Three Dog Winery. • Smartphone holders will enjoy an enhanced visitor experience thanks to an NFC chip embedded in the tag of each VORTEX artwork. By tapping their smartphones to the tag, visitors will be able to instantly hear the song that inspired the art, view the artwork digitally, access tasting notes about the paired wine, and other related content, powered by Musical Bead. • Visitors at the participating wineries will also be able to enjoy the unique VORTEX Art • Music • Wine experience by tapping their smartphones to the tag hanging on the featured bottle of wine to access tasting notes, see the paired artwork, hear the song that inspired the art, learn more about the musician and artists, and so much more.
