Wander through Nature

Dog-Friendly Hiking Trails & Nature Walks

Picton is where it's at for a wag-worthy walkies! Head over to the massive, fenced dog park at Delhi Park. Let your pooch roam off-leash in this spacious area, complete with seating and water bowls. Additionally, explore the scenic trails winding through our conservation areas like Massassauga Point, Little Bluff, and Macaulay Mountain. On the South Shore, take a stroll through the National Wildlife Area amidst marshes, woods, and grasslands. Across the County, nine conservation areas welcome leashed dogs, including Demorestville, Harry Smith, and H.J. McFarland. Don't miss the Millennium Trail, a scenic route from Picton to Carrying Place, perfect for on-leash walks, but be prepared to share with others like walkers, cyclists, and even horses. Just remember to check for ticks after your adventure!

Trail update for summer explorers: Parts of the Millennium Trail are temporarily closed, but no worries—we’ve got a handy map to help you navigate the detour. View the map outlining current closures and detour routes.

Beach Bumming with Your Bestie

While most of Sandbanks Provincial Park isn't open to pets, dogs are welcome on-leash at Sandbanks Beach (Richardson’s Beach) and a portion of Outlet Beach. Ensure your pup is well-socialized and friendly as these areas tend to be busy, especially during the summer months. Wellington Rotary Beach is another option where your furry friend can enjoy the sand and surf while on-leash.

Pack a picnic basket full of treats from local markets and find a spot to chill out with your furry friend. Whether it's a public park, conservation area, or dog-friendly winery, there's no shortage of places to enjoy a feast with your favourite furball by your side.
