🎸 Meet Guitarist Robert Keyes! 🎶
For decades, Robert has been meticulously honing his craft. Just like many aspiring musicians, it all began when he saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show! 🌟
But it wasn’t just guitarists that inspired him. The incredible voices of Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Edith Piaf, and Ella Fitzgerald fueled his passion to dive deep into the magical world of music. 🎤✨
Thus began his lifelong study of the 4 elements that make up this enchanting art form: Melody, Harmony, Rhythm, and Tone. These cornerstones shape every song Rob arranges, allowing him to put his unique stamp on each tune he plays. 🎵💖
With private lessons from Howard Morgan in NYC and Peter Harris in Toronto, he has truly blossomed as a musician. 🌍
In 2013, Keyes moved to PEC, after a decade by the beautiful shores of Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. Here, he’s carved out a unique niche with his solo instrumental style, giving him the freedom to shift gears musically on the spot! 🎸✨
In Virginia, Rob had the privilege of performing with big city jazz artists, as well as sharing the stage with legends like Lyle Lovett and Sir John McVie of Fleetwood Mac fame. 🌟🎤
Now in Canada, he has collaborated with renowned artists like Holly Cole, Guido Basso, and Hagood Hardy. Currently, he’s working on an exciting project with the late rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins’ daughter, Leah. 🎶❤️
On any given night, you might hear Rob explore everything from Classical to Contemporary, with many stops in between. He tailors his music to his audience, never locked into a predetermined setlist. 🎵🎉
