Just Between you and Me- Solo Show by Grace Dam

Humanity and the complexity of life have been a central theme in Dam’s figurative work. From challenges in relationships to inter-connections between humans and with the surrounding environment.  This new series of her artworks intimates the mundane, guilty pleasures that exemplify a fundamental, uncomplicated wish to obtain, possess or consume things.

In oil and figurative style, her latest works continue to explore humanity and the complexity of our relationship to things and to others around us.  These paintings examine the inner longing for indulgences and the admission of greed, desire, want, need and yearning of endless possessions and consumption of things. Domestically or commercially, these food items are displayed in a restrained yet idyllic isolation. The lure is quiet yet potent.

Dam continues to focus on and highlight the complexity and challenges in human conduct in her on-going works. Centred on these conflicts, they are a social commentary and an essay about life.

Show runs June 5th - June 28th noon- 5pm Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
