- the intention -

⛅ Go outside
🍂 Embrace the season
👯‍♂️ Wander and wonder with your neighbours
👀 Notice and reflect on the land

- the invitation -

Looking to get outside more? Join this 1.5hr(ish) monthly wander to wonder about the species and ecologies that follow Marsh Creek between Glenwood Cemetery and Picton Bay. It's a chance to observe seasonal changes, meet your neighbours, ask questions, get to know the landscape and the many plants and animals that use it, and contribute to collective mapping and community science.

Everyone is welcome. There is no fee to participate.

- the offer -

With Marsh Creek as our guide, we'll weave through Delhi Park to observe what's on the grow, which cute dogs are at the park, and take mental notes of various plant and animal kin. September’s B+B features Vi Woo, local disabled queer artist, musician, professional yarn tangler and accessibility advocate. They’ll be advising on accessible routes and supportive infrastructure (or the lack of) along the way. After we reach the Bay, we'll regroup and reflect over tea.

We'll supply the map(s) and tea.

- the ask -

That you bring your whole self, your curiosity, your willingness to embrace the season and a sense of play! You listen fully to others, tread lightly, and ask lots of questions - especially the ones that feel 'stupid'.

Bring yourself dressed for the weather, and a cup or mug for tea. We go rain or shine.

- the details -

***NEW STARTING LOCATION*** We'll start the wander at 10am from the old baseball diamond in Delhi Park across from the Picton Community Gardens - NOT at Glenwood - you can park at Delhi Park for free. Becky and Vi will be returning to the same starting location, but folks are also welcome to depart from other locations along the way.

The wander will be approximately 1.5-2km in total depending on the group you wander with. Surfaces can include roads, grass, gravel and dirt paths plus several opportunities to traverse steep and uneven surfaces if you’re interested and able. Looking for additional support in order to fully participate? Please let us know how we can help in advance by emailing feralfolc@gmail.com.

We'll start the walk at 10am, if you’re late or lost you can text Becky at 613-503-1309 and are welcome to try to come find us or meet us somewhere along the way.
