June is National Indigenous History Month, and we are thrilled to announce the opening of "Art in Conversation: Student Responses to A Path Forward"!

"Art in Conversation" is a special student art showcase connected to the exhibit 'A Path Forward'. It celebrates Indigenous cultures, student learning, and ongoing reconciliation efforts in our community.

"Art in Conversation" has been an ongoing project. Throughout the school year, students from multiple grade nine art classes from PECI visited 'A Path Forward' on a regular basis to engage deeply with the art within the exhibit.

Each time students visited, they worked towards a special end of year project: create an original artistic response to a piece within the exhibit.

Students were instructed to respond thoughtfully through their own ideas, emotions, and artistic choices. They were also provided the challenge of not copying or recreating any work.

Visitors are encouraged to explore both the original exhibit and the student responses throughout National Indigenous History Month. Come experience how art can inspire dialogue, learning and connection!

🖼 "Art in Conversation" is on display throughout June
